Chapter 58 Oregon Laws 2001

 

AN ACT

 

HB 5022

 

Relating to the financial administration of the Department of Justice; appropriating money; limiting expenditures; and declaring an emergency.

 

Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:

 

          SECTION 1. There is appropriated to the Department of Justice, for the biennium beginning July 1, 2001, out of the General Fund, the amount of $21,228,957.

 

          SECTION 2. Notwithstanding any other law, the amount of $170,240,305 is established for the biennium beginning July 1, 2001, as the maximum limit for payment of expenses from fees, moneys or other revenues, including Miscellaneous Receipts, but excluding lottery funds and federal funds, collected or received by the Department of Justice.

 

          SECTION 3. Notwithstanding any other law, the amount of $13,775,056 is established for the biennium beginning July 1, 2001, as the maximum limit for payment of expenses from federal funds collected or received by the Department of Justice.

 

          SECTION 4. Section 2 of this 2001 Act does not limit, affect or apply to expenditures, except expenditures for administrative expenses, from the Criminal Injuries Compensation Account.

 

          SECTION 5. Section 2 of this 2001 Act does not limit, affect or apply to expenditures from the Criminal Justice Revolving Account established by ORS 180.640.

 

          SECTION 6. Notwithstanding any other law, all sections of this 2001 Act are subject to Oregon Department of Administrative Services rules related to allotting, controlling, and encumbering funds.

 

          SECTION 7. This 2001 Act being necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety, an emergency is declared to exist, and this 2001 Act takes effect July 1, 2001.
