Relating to State Library
Donation Fund; amending ORS 357.195; and declaring an emergency.
Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:
SECTION 1.
ORS 357.195 is amended to read:
357.195. (1) The
interest, income, dividends or profits received on any property or funds of the
State Library derived from gifts, legacies, devises, bequests or endowments
shall be deposited with the State Treasurer and are set apart and appropriated
to the use, maintenance and support of the State Library, in like manner as the
principal or corpus of each such gift or donation is set apart or appropriated.
All such gifts or donations shall be placed by the State Treasurer to the
credit of a fund, separate and distinct from the General Fund, to be known as
the State Library Donation Fund[, and]. The State Treasurer shall credit
monthly to [such] the fund any interest or other income derived from the fund or the
investing thereof.
(2) The Trustees of
the State Library may establish a Talking Book and Braille Library Endowment
Fund as a subaccount of the State Library Donation Fund.
(3) Claims against the State Library Donation Fund shall be
approved and warrants issued in the manner provided by law.
SECTION 2.
This 2001 Act being necessary for the
immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety, an emergency is
declared to exist, and this 2001 Act takes effect July 1, 2001.
