AN ACT
SB 324
Relating to Professional
Organizations Certification Fund; appropriating money; and declaring an
emergency.
Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:
SECTION 1.
Section 2 of this 2001 Act is added to
and made a part of ORS 342.120 to 342.430.
SECTION 2.
(1) There is created the Professional
Organizations Certification Fund, separate and distinct from the General Fund.
Interest earned on moneys in the Professional Organizations Certification Fund
shall be credited to the fund.
(2) The Teacher
Standards and Practices Commission may accept from any source any grant,
donation or gift of money or other valuable thing made to the commission for
purposes of the Professional Organizations Certification Fund.
(3) Moneys credited to
the Professional Organizations Certification Fund are continuously appropriated
to the commission for the purposes of advanced certifications of teachers and
administrators in accordance with ORS 342.121 (2). The commission may draw
checks or orders upon the State Treasurer in making disbursements from the
Professional Organizations Certification Fund for the purposes stated in this
subsection.
SECTION 3.
This 2001 Act being necessary for the
immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety, an emergency is
declared to exist, and this 2001 Act takes effect July 1, 2001.
