Chapter 889 Oregon Laws 2001
AN ACT
SB 5513
Relating to the financial
administration of Department of Education; appropriating money; and declaring
an emergency.
Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:
SECTION 1.
In addition to and not in lieu of any
other appropriation, there is appropriated to the Department of Education, for
the biennium beginning July 1, 2001, out of the General Fund, the amount of
$220,000,000 for the School Improvement Fund to provide grants to school
districts and the Youth Corrections Education Program to fund activities
related to student achievement as described in chapter 794, Oregon Laws
2001 (Enrolled House Bill 2298).
SECTION 2.
If House Bill 3619 becomes law, section 1 of this 2001 Act is amended to read:
Sec. 1. In
addition to and not in lieu of any other appropriation, there is appropriated
to the Department of Education, for the biennium beginning July 1, 2001, out of
the General Fund, the amount of $220,000,000 for the School Improvement Fund to
provide grants to school districts,
[and] the Youth Corrections Education
Program and the Juvenile Detention
Education Program to fund activities related to student achievement as
described in chapter 794, Oregon Laws 2001 (Enrolled House Bill 2298).
SECTION 3.
Notwithstanding any other law, all
sections of this 2001 Act are subject to Oregon Department of Administrative
Services rules related to allotting, controlling and encumbering funds.
SECTION 4.
This 2001 Act being necessary for the
immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety, an emergency is
declared to exist, and this 2001 Act takes effect July 1, 2001.
