Chapter 984 Oregon Laws 2001

 

AN ACT

 

HB 3534

 

Relating to veterans; appropriating money; and declaring an emergency.

 

Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:

 

          SECTION 1. In addition to and not in lieu of any other appropriation, there is appropriated to the Department of Veterans' Affairs, for the biennium beginning July 1, 2001, out of the General Fund, the amount of $100,000, which may be expended for the purpose of supporting assistance programs operated by a service officer appointed by a county governing body under ORS 408.410.

 

          SECTION 2. The Department of Veterans' Affairs shall distribute among those counties that have appointed county service officers under ORS 408.410:

          (1) Equally among the counties, $50,000.

          (2) Based on the populations of the counties, $50,000.

 

          SECTION 3. This 2001 Act being necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety, an emergency is declared to exist, and this 2001 Act takes effect July 1, 2001.
