                        A BILL FOR AN ACT
Relating to corrections.
Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:
  SECTION 1.  { + (1) The Department of Corrections shall adopt
rules that establish standards for the supervision of state
inmate work crews assigned to work outside a correctional
facility.
  (2) The standards established by the department under
subsection (1) of this section shall:
  (a) Address the nature and extent of inmate supervision, the
notification of local law enforcement authorities and schools,
the clothing worn by inmates and the training of work crew
supervisors.
  (b) Require that state inmate work crews assigned to work
outdoors within a city or within a residential community located
outside a city be supervised by a minimum of one supervisor for
every 10 inmates.
  (3) This section does not apply to programs operated by Oregon
Corrections Enterprises under ORS 421.344 to 421.367.
  (4) As used in this section, 'correctional facility' means any
institution, facility or staff office, including the grounds,
operated by the Department of Corrections. + }
