  Requires supervision of state inmate work crews by Department
of Corrections.
 
                        A BILL FOR AN ACT
Relating to corrections.
Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:
  SECTION 1.  { + (1) The Department of Corrections shall provide
supervision of state inmate work crews assigned to work outside
of a correctional facility on a local, state or federal work
project as follows:
  (a) At least two corrections officers from the Department of
Corrections shall supervise a work crew that consists of five or
more inmates; and
  (b) The inmates must be in the direct line of sight at all
times of all corrections officers assigned to supervise the
inmate work crew.
  (2) The provisions of this section do not apply to programs
operated by Oregon Corrections Enterprises under ORS 421.344 to
421.367. + }
