Allows Department of Transportation to recover actual costs
incurred as result of certain accidents from person causing
accident.
A BILL FOR AN ACT
Relating to recovery of costs of accidents.
Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:
SECTION 1. { + Section 2 of this 2001 Act is added to and made
a part of the Oregon Vehicle Code. + }
SECTION 2. { + When the Department of Transportation incurs
costs as a result of an accident involving spilled or dislodged
cargo or as a result of violations of restrictions or limitations
imposed under ORS 810.030, the department may recover the actual
costs incurred from the person who caused the accident or who
violated the restrictions or limitations. + }
