  On page 1 of the printed A-engrossed bill, line 2, delete '
460.047,'.
  In line 6, after the comma insert 'except as provided in
subsection (2) of this section,'.
  Delete lines 13 through 26 and insert:
  ' (2) Notwithstanding ORS 479.910 and 479.915, the department
shall issue a Class A limited energy technician license to a
person who:
  ' (a) Prior to October 1, 2002, possesses a restricted energy
electrician's license with an indorsement for fire alarm
installation, nurse calls or protective signaling, as described
in ORS 479.920 (2) (1999 Edition);
  ' (b) Prior to October 1, 2004, completes 32 hours of training
in limited energy electrical activity approved by the Electrical
and Elevator Board; and
  ' (c) Complies with board requirements for renewal of a
license.'.
  On page 2, delete line 1.
  In line 2, delete '(4)' and insert '(3)'.
  On page 3, line 31, delete 'Vendor-specific' and delete '
equipment'.
  On page 4, line 5, delete ', when those alarms, calls' and
after the second 'systems' insert 'that' and after 'fire ' insert
'or'.
  In line 21, delete 'on changes to the electrical code'.
  In line 31, restore 'approved' and delete 'prepared'.
  Delete lines 33 through 40.
  In line 41, delete '(3)' and insert '(2)'.
  In line 44, delete 'or' and insert 'and'.
  On page 5, line 2, restore '(3)' and delete '(4)'.
  In line 5, delete '(5)' and insert '(4)'.
  In line 6, delete '(3)' and insert '(2)'.
  After line 28, insert:
  ' (4) The licensure provisions of ORS 479.510 to 479.945 do not
apply to limited energy electrical activity involving the
installation, maintenance or repair of lottery equipment at
retail locations by employees or vendors of the Oregon State
Lottery Commission. The exemption provided by this subsection
does not authorize work by unlicensed persons on systems of 115
volts or more.'.
