A BILL FOR AN ACT
Relating to registered geologists; amending ORS 672.605 and
672.675.
Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:
SECTION 1. ORS 672.605 is amended to read:
672.605. Each registrant { - hereunder - } , upon issuance of
a certificate, shall obtain a seal of the design authorized by
the State Board of Geologist Examiners, bearing the registrant's
name and the legend 'registered { - professional - }
geologist' or ' certified specialty geologist.' All drawings,
reports { - , - } or other geologic papers or documents
{ - , - } involving geologic work as defined in ORS 672.505 to
672.705 { - which shall - } { + that + } have been prepared
or approved by a registered geologist or a subordinate employee
under the direction of a registered geologist for the use of or
for delivery to any person or for public record within this state
shall be signed by the registered geologist and impressed with
the seal or the seal of a nonresident practicing under the
provisions of ORS 672.505 to 672.705, either of which shall
indicate responsibility for them.
SECTION 2. ORS 672.675 is amended to read:
672.675. The State Board of Geologist Examiners { - shall
have - } { + has + } the power to suspend, revoke or refuse to
renew the certificate of registration of any registrant or
reprimand any registrant who is found to have been involved in:
(1) The practice of any fraud or deceit in obtaining a
certificate of registration;
(2) Any negligence, gross negligence, incompetence or
misconduct in the practice of geology as a { - professional - }
{ + registered + } geologist;
(3) Any felony; or
(4) The commission of any unlawful act as set forth in ORS
672.505 to 672.705.
