  In line 5 of the printed bill, after the period insert ' (1)'.
  After line 6, insert:
  ' (2) This section applies only to minors who attend a public
or private school or who receive instruction as a homeschooled
student.
  '  { +  SECTION 3. + }  { + Notwithstanding section 2 (1) of
this 2001 Act:
  ' (1) For tax years beginning on or after January 1, 2002, and
before January 1, 2003, 25 percent of earned income is exempt
from tax under section 2 of this 2001 Act.
  ' (2) For tax years beginning on or after January 1, 2003, and
before January 1, 2004, 50 percent of earned income is exempt
from tax under section 2 of this 2001 Act.
  ' (3) For tax years beginning on or after January 1, 2004, and
before January 1, 2005, 75 percent of earned income is exempt
from tax under section 2 of this 2001 Act. + } ' .
  In line 7, delete '3' and insert '4'.
  In line 9, delete '4' and insert '5'.
