  Creates offense of giving false information to peace officer
acting in course of official duty. Punishes by maximum of six
months' imprisonment, $2,000 fine, or both.
 
                        A BILL FOR AN ACT
Relating to peace officers.
Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:
  SECTION 1.  { + (1) A person commits the crime of giving false
information to a peace officer acting in the course of official
duty if the person knowingly uses or gives a false or fictitious
name, address or date of birth to a peace officer who requests
the information while acting in the course of official duty.
  (2) Giving false information to a peace officer acting in the
course of official duty is a Class B misdemeanor. + }
