                      SENATE AMENDMENTS TO

  On page 1 of the printed A-engrossed bill, after line 5,
insert:
  ' (2) The Legislative Assembly declares that it is the policy
of this state to encourage all students to participate in school
activities.'.
  In line 6, delete '(2)' and insert '(3)(a)'.
  After line 10, insert:
  ' (b) Each school district board shall adopt a policy to
implement this section. The policy shall provide that the school
district make reasonable efforts to facilitate participation by
all students who reside in the school district in activities
outside of the regular school program. In addition, the policy
shall specify the meaning of 'if space is available,' as used in
this subsection, for activities that are sponsored by the school
district. The policy shall establish priorities for allowing
public and private school students access to school activities.
The policy may establish limitations on the number of students
allowed to participate in a school activity if:
  ' (A) The limitations are necessary to preserve the
effectiveness of the activity; or
  ' (B) Traditionally there have been limitations established for
the activity.'.
  In line 11, delete '(3)' and insert '(4)'.
  In line 14, delete '(4)' and insert '(5)'.
  In line 23, delete '(5)' and insert '(6)'.
  In line 26, delete '(6)' and insert '(7)'.
  On page 2, line 1, delete '(7)' and insert '(8)'.
  In line 4, delete '(8)' and insert '(9)'.
  In line 5, delete 'shall' and insert 'may'.
