  On page 10 of the printed bill, delete lines 1 through 12 and
insert:

statutes by sections 3 to 23 of this 2001 Act and the repeal of
statutes by section 24 of this 2001 Act become operative on
January 1, 2004. + }

clerks may take any action before the operative date of section 2
of this 2001 Act, the amendments to statutes by sections 3 to 23
of this 2001 Act and the repeal of statutes by section 24 of this

clerks to exercise, on and after the operative date of section 2
of this 2001 Act, the amendments to statutes by sections 3 to 23
of this 2001 Act and the repeal of statutes by section 24 of this
2001 Act, all the duties, functions and powers conferred on the
secretary and county clerks by section 2 of this 2001 Act, the
amendments to statutes by sections 3 to 23 of this 2001 Act and
the repeal of statutes by section 24 of this 2001 Act. + } ' .
  In line 13, delete '29' and insert '28'.
