  On page 1 of the printed bill, line 2, after 'tobacco ' insert
a period and delete the rest of the line and line 3.
  Delete lines 5 through 27 and delete pages 2 through 4 and
insert:
  '  { +  SECTION 1. + }  { + The President of the Senate and the
Speaker of the House of Representatives shall designate a joint
interim legislative committee to study options available for the
distribution and expenditure of payments made to the state under
the terms of the Master Settlement Agreement entered into on
November 23, 1998, by the State of Oregon and leading United
States tobacco product manufacturers. The joint interim
legislative committee shall complete its study before the
commencement of the Seventy-second Legislative Assembly. + } ' .
