  Prohibits insurer from conducting credit check of person
applying for homeowner or motor vehicle liability insurance.
 
                        A BILL FOR AN ACT
Relating to insurance.
Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:
  SECTION 1.  { + Section 2 of this 2001 Act is added to and made
a part of ORS chapter 742. + }
  SECTION 2.  { + An insurer that issues homeowner or motor
vehicle liability insurance policies may not conduct a credit
check of a person who applies for issuance or renewal of a
homeowner or motor vehicle liability insurance policy. + }
  SECTION 3.  { + Section 2 of this 2001 Act applies to
applications for issuance or renewal of insurance policies made
on or after the effective date of this 2001 Act. + }
