  Delete lines 5 through 11 of the printed bill and insert:
  '  { +  SECTION 2. + }  { + The State Fish and Wildlife
Commission shall adopt a system for renewing licenses issued
under ORS 497.102 and 497.121 through the mail and the World Wide
Web. + }
  '  { +  SECTION 3. + }  { + (1) Based on the system adopted by
the State Fish and Wildlife Commission under section 2 of this
2001 Act, the State Department of Fish and Wildlife shall
implement a pilot project that offers and encourages the renewal
of licenses through the mail and the World Wide Web.
  ' (2) The department shall operate the pilot project from the
effective date of this 2001 Act until December 31, 2003.
  ' (3) The department shall create a task force, with membership
determined by the State Fish and Wildlife Director, to assess the
effectiveness of the pilot project and to report to the
Seventy-second Legislative Assembly on the status of the renewal
system. The department shall provide the staff necessary for the
task force to perform its obligations. + }
  '  { +  SECTION 4. + }  { + Section 3 of this 2001 Act is
repealed on January 2, 2004. + } ' .
