A BILL FOR AN ACT
Relating to licenses issued by State Fish and Wildlife
Commission.
Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:
SECTION 1. { + Section 2 of this 2001 Act is added to and made
a part of the wildlife laws. + }
SECTION 2. { + The State Fish and Wildlife Commission shall
adopt a system for renewing licenses issued under ORS 497.102 and
497.121 through the mail and the World Wide Web. + }
SECTION 3. { + (1) Based on the system adopted by the State
Fish and Wildlife Commission under section 2 of this 2001 Act,
the State Department of Fish and Wildlife shall implement a pilot
project that offers and encourages the renewal of licenses
through the mail and the World Wide Web.
(2) The department shall operate the pilot project from the
effective date of this 2001 Act until December 31, 2003.
(3) The department shall create a task force, with membership
determined by the State Fish and Wildlife Director, to assess the
effectiveness of the pilot project and to report to the
Seventy-second Legislative Assembly on the status of the renewal
system. The department shall provide the staff necessary for the
task force to perform its obligations. + }
SECTION 4. { + Section 3 of this 2001 Act is repealed on
January 2, 2004. + }
