               CONFERENCE COMMITTEE AMENDMENTS TO
                   B-ENGROSSED HOUSE BILL 3395

                         Amended Summary
  Prohibits public charter school employee from serving on
district school board.   { - Directs State Board of Education to
grant waiver of public charter school laws upon joint application
of school and district school board. - }  Prohibits public
charter school from allowing infliction of corporal punishment.
Provides for addition of poverty weighting factor for purposes of
public charter school funding. Prohibits public charter school
from limiting student admission based on race or religion.
  Declares emergency, effective July 1, 2001.

  Your Conference Committee to whom was referred B-engrossed
House Bill 3395, having had the same under consideration,
respectfully reports it back with the recommendation that the
House concur in the Senate amendments dated May 8 and that the
bill be amended as follows and repassed.
 
  On page 1 of the printed B-engrossed bill, delete lines 23 and
24.
  On page 2, delete line 1.
  In line 2, delete the boldfaced material.
  In line 3, delete the comma and insert a period.
  Delete line 4.
