  On page 1 of the printed bill, line 12, delete 'Interest
earned' and insert 'Earnings'.
  In line 13, delete 'is' and insert 'are'.
  In line 16, delete 'State Treasurer' and insert ' chairperson
of the Oregon Student Assistance Commission'.
  In line 17, delete '$200,000' and insert '$50,000'.
  In line 18, delete 'Department of Higher Education' and insert
'Oregon Student Assistance Commission'.
  In line 19, delete 'Department of Higher Education' and insert
'commission'.
  Delete lines 21 through 25 and insert:
  ' (4)(a) The commission shall disburse the funds received under
this section for the purpose of defraying living and academic
expenses of graduate students. The disbursements shall be
need-based and shall be apportioned as follows:
  ' (A) One-half of the amount distributed to students pursuing
studies in public health; and
  ' (B) One-half of the amount distributed to students pursuing
studies in natural resources management.
  ' (b) The commission may deduct a fee from the total of the
funds disbursed for administrative expenses pursuant to
commission rules.
  ' (c) The commission shall provide to the Legislative Assembly,
upon request of the Speaker of the House of Representatives or
the President of the Senate, an accounting of the funds
disbursed.'.
  On page 2, line 10, delete 'or'.
  In line 12, delete '$500,000' and insert '$75,000'.
  After line 12, insert:
  ' (E) Would result in an annual total deposit into the Academic
Opportunity Investment Account of an amount in excess of $75,000;
or'.
