agreement regarding Oregon Zoo  { + Complex + } parking lot.

                        A BILL FOR AN ACT
Relating to parking for light rail.
Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:
  SECTION 1.  { + (1) The City of Portland, the Tri-County
Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon and the
metropolitan service district created under ORS chapter 268 in
the Portland area shall enter into an agreement authorizing use
of the parking lot at the Oregon Zoo Complex as a park-and-ride
lot for the nearby light rail station.
  (2) The agreement required in subsection (1) of this section:
  (a) Shall provide for a parking permit system;
  (b) May establish a limit on the number of parking permits
issued;
  (c) May limit permit parking on a first-come, first-served
basis; and
  (d) May limit permit parking to specified days and times to
avoid interference with the peak usage of facilities at the
Oregon Zoo Complex.
  (3) The Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District of
Oregon shall work to improve parking and transit access to light
rail transit stations throughout the system including, but not
limited to, the Washington Park Station, the Gateway Transit
Center and the Sunset Transit Center. + }
  SECTION 2.  { + The City of Portland, the Tri-County
Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon and the
metropolitan service district created under ORS chapter 268 in
the Portland area shall jointly report, by September 1, 2002, on
the status of the agreement entered into under section 1 of this
2001 Act, and activity under the agreement, to the interim
committees of the Legislative Assembly addressing transportation
issues. + }
