                             SUMMARY

brief statement of the essential features of the measure as
introduced.
 
  Provides that one-half of moneys for acquisition of art for
state buildings be allocated to Cultural Trust Fund Investment
Account.
 
                        A BILL FOR AN ACT
Relating to state buildings; creating new provisions; and
  amending ORS 276.080.
Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:
  SECTION 1. ORS 276.080 is amended to read:
  276.080. (1) All   { - appropriations - }   { + moneys
appropriated or allocated + } for the construction or alteration
of any state building shall be considered to contain an
appropriation  { + or allocation + } of { + :
  (a) One-half of + } one percent of the amount   { - thereof - }
for the acquisition of works of art { + , + } which may be an
integral part of the building, attached thereto or capable of
display in other state buildings { + ; and
  (b) One-half of one percent of the amount for deposit into the
Cultural Trust Fund Investment Account established by ORS
285A.216 + }.
  (2) When it would not be appropriate to place works of art in a
given structure, the funds authorized in subsection
(1) { + (a) + } of this section shall be expended to acquire
works of art for placement in other buildings under the control
of the contracting agency.
  SECTION 2.  { + The amendments to ORS 276.080 by section 1 of
this 2001 Act apply to moneys appropriated or allocated on or
after the effective date of this 2001 Act. + }
