  Directs Judicial Department to create statewide mediation
program for juvenile dependency cases.
  Declares emergency, effective July 1, 2001.
 
                        A BILL FOR AN ACT
Relating to juvenile dependency mediation; appropriating money;
  and declaring an emergency.
Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:
  SECTION 1.  { + The Judicial Department shall create a
statewide program to provide mediation in cases subject to ORS
chapter 419B. + }
  SECTION 2.  { + In addition to and not in lieu of any other
appropriation, there is appropriated to the Judicial Department,
for the biennium beginning July 1, 2001, out of the General Fund,
the amount of $1,047,600 to be used to carry out the provisions
of section 1 of this 2001 Act. + }
  SECTION 3.  { + This 2001 Act being necessary for the immediate
preservation of the public peace, health and safety, an emergency
is declared to exist, and this 2001 Act takes effect July 1,
2001. + }
