                       HOUSE AMENDMENTS TO
                    HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION 56

  On page 1 of the printed joint resolution, line 4, delete '
seven' and insert 'nine'.
  In line 10, delete 'and'.
  In line 12, delete the period and insert ';
  ' (f) One individual representing the office of the State Fire
Marshal, appointed by the President of the Senate; and
  ' (g) One individual representing the State Department of
Geology and Mineral Industries, appointed by the Speaker of the
House of Representatives.'.
  In line 18, after the period insert 'The chairperson must be a
member of the Legislative Assembly.'.
  In line 23, after the period delete the rest of the line.
  In line 24, delete 'the task force shall be filed with the
Legislative Administrator.'.
  Delete lines 28 through 32 and insert:
  ' (6) The Office of Emergency Management of the Department of
State Police shall provide, if funds are available, staff
necessary to assist the task force to perform its functions and
may contract with a public or private agency to provide the
assistance.
  ' (7) Notwithstanding ORS 171.072, members of the Legislative
Assembly may not receive a per diem for service on the task force
established by this joint resolution. Members of the task force,
including members of the Legislative Assembly, are entitled,
under ORS 292.495, to actual and necessary travel and other
expenses actually incurred if funds are available for that
purpose.
  ' (8) Subject to the approval of the Emergency Board, the task
force may accept contributions of funds and assistance from the
United States Government, its agencies, or from any source,
public or private, and agree to conditions thereon not
inconsistent with the purposes of the task force. All such funds
are to aid in financing the functions of the task force and shall
be deposited in the General Fund of the State Treasury to the
credit of a separate account for the task force and shall be
disbursed for the purpose for which contributed in the same
manner as funds appropriated for the task force.'.
  On page 2, delete lines 1 through 5.
  In line 6, delete '(8)' and insert '(9)'.
  In line 9, delete '(9)' and insert '(10)'.
