  In memoriam: Robert D. (Bob) Bigelow, Publisher of Lake Oswego
Review and West Linn Tidings.
 
                        HOUSE RESOLUTION
  Whereas  { - Lake Oswego Review - } and  { - West Linn
Tidings - } Publisher Robert D. (Bob) Bigelow died August 29,
2000, at 42 years of age; and
  Whereas Bob Bigelow, recognized as Community Leader of the Year
in 1998, was a tireless and invaluable contributor to the greater
Lake Oswego, Tualatin, Tigard and West Linn communities; and
  Whereas Bob Bigelow, as a member of the Lake Oswego School
District Foundation Board of Directors, as a significant partner
in Lake Oswego Together, and as a coach of youth sports, was a
driving force for the healthy development of youth in the
community; and
  Whereas Bob Bigelow, as president of the Lake Oswego Chamber of
Commerce, and as Lake Oswego Rotary President, brought his
enthusiasm, initiative and commitment to these integral community
organizations; and
  Whereas Bob Bigelow had the vision, communication skills and
personality attributes that enabled him to create key
partnerships between government, businesses and schools; and
  Whereas Bob Bigelow consistently upheld the ethics of his
profession through his unfailing dedication to a fair and concise
political process; and
  Whereas Bob Bigelow's presence in the community far exceeded
the role of local businessman, and his contributions as an
energetic civic leader had enormous influence in many areas of
community life; now, therefore,
Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of
  Oregon:
  That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the
Seventy-first Legislative Assembly, mourn the passing of Bob
Bigelow, extend our condolences to his family and express our
sincere appreciation for a person who worked selflessly to better
his community; and be it further
  Resolved, That a copy of this resolution be presented to Bob
Bigelow's wife, Susan, and his children, J.D., Kara and Cale, as
an expression of the esteem in which we hold the memory of their
husband and father.
