                      SENATE AMENDMENTS TO
                         SENATE BILL 16

  On page 1 of the printed bill, line 5, delete '20' and insert
'up to 21'.
  Delete lines 21 through 23 and insert:
  ' (g)(A) One former member of the Senate appointed by the
President of the Senate and one former member of the House of
Representatives appointed by the Speaker of the House of
Representatives; or
  ' (B) If one of the potential appointees described in
subparagraph (A) of this paragraph is not available, two former
members of the Legislative Assembly appointed jointly by the
President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of
Representatives;'.
  In line 24, delete '(i)' and insert '(h)' and delete ' and'.
  In line 25, delete '(j)' and insert '(i)' and delete the period
and insert '; and
  ' (j) If the cochairpersons jointly agree, one elected state
official.'.
  In line 26, after '(3)' insert '(a)'.
  On page 2, after line 1, insert:
  ' (b) The President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House
of Representatives shall jointly select one of the members
appointed under subsection (2)(e) or (f) of this section to be
executive director to plan for and coordinate activities under
section 2 (2) of this 2001 Act.'.
  In line 28, delete 'Each' and insert 'If a sister state
committee is appointed under section 1 of this 2001 Act:
  ' (1) The'.
  In line 29, delete '(1)' and insert '(a)'.
  In line 30, delete '(2)' and insert '(b)'.
  In line 32, delete '(3)' and insert '(c)'.
  In line 34, delete '(4)' and insert '(d)'.
  In line 35, delete '(5)' and insert '(e)'.
  After line 36, insert:
  ' (2) The sister state committee shall visit the sister state
at least biennially for the purpose of fulfilling the objectives
described in subsection (1) of this section.'.
