                      SENATE AMENDMENTS TO
                         SENATE BILL 101

  On page 1 of the printed bill, line 15, after 'determines '
delete the rest of the line and insert 'meets the criteria
adopted by rule by the board under section 6 (4) of this 2001
Act.'.
  Delete lines 16 and 17.
  On page 2, delete line 3 and insert:
  ' (3) There is continuously appropriated to the Department of
Higher Education from the Higher Education Technology Transfer
Fund those amounts necessary to meet the expenses of the
Chancellor of the State Board of Higher Education incurred under
section 4 (11) of this 2001 Act.
  ' (4) The moneys in the Higher Education Technology Transfer
Fund that are not appropriated under subsection (3) of this
section are continuously ap-'.
  On page 3, line 15, after the period insert 'The Department of
Higher Education shall be reimbursed for expenses incurred by the
chancellor under this subsection from amounts appropriated to the
department under section 2 (3) of this 2001 Act.'.
  After line 44, insert:
  '  { +  SECTION 6a. + }  { + Notwithstanding sections 1 (3) and
6 (4) of this 2001 Act, for the period ending July 1, 2002, for
purposes of sections 1 to 9 of this 2001 Act, 'eligible higher
education institution' means a higher education institution that
the Higher Education Technology Transfer Fund Board determines
actively promotes technology transfer programs and activities and
has received two percent or more of the total sponsored research
dollars received by all higher education institutions.'. + }
