                             AN ACT
 
 
Relating to public contracts entered into by Superintendent of
  Public Instruction; and declaring an emergency.
 
Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:
 
  SECTION 1.  { + The Superintendent of Public Instruction may
use a facsimile signature on public contracts for personal
services if the value of the contract is $3,000 or less. + }
  SECTION 2.  { + Section 1 of this 2001 Act shall first apply to
public contracts for personal services entered into by the
Superintendent of Public Instruction on or after the effective
date of this 2001 Act. + }
  SECTION 3.  { + This 2001 Act being necessary for the immediate
preservation of the public peace, health and safety, an emergency
is declared to exist, and this 2001 Act takes effect on its
passage. + }
