  Provides that certain corrections officers have same powers and
immunities as peace officers.
 
                        A BILL FOR AN ACT
Relating to corrections.
Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:
  SECTION 1.  { + (1) As used in this section:
  (a) 'Corrections officer' has the meaning given that term in
ORS 181.610.
  (b) 'Department of Corrections institution' has the meaning
given that term in ORS 421.005.
  (2) A corrections officer has all of the powers and immunities
of a peace officer if the corrections officer is an employee of
the Department of Corrections and the officer's job
responsibilities include:
  (a) Transporting inmates between a Department of Corrections
institution and another location; or
  (b) The apprehension of inmates who have escaped from a
Department of Corrections institution. + }
