brief statement of the essential features of the measure as
introduced.
 
  Requires Asthma Program of Health Division to promote community
involvement and develop community resources to increase
availability of asthma prevention and care services in
communities of color.
  Appropriates moneys to Health Division from General Fund for
purpose of asthma education, asthma treatment clinic, asthma
management resources and other services.
 
                        A BILL FOR AN ACT
Relating to asthma services in communities of color; and
  appropriating money.
Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:
  SECTION 1.  { + The Health Division of the Department of Human
Services, through its Asthma Program, shall promote community
involvement and develop community resources to increase the
availability of asthma prevention and care services in
communities of color. These services shall include, but are not
limited to, asthma education, asthma treatment clinics and asthma
management resources. + }
  SECTION 2.  { + There is appropriated to the Health Division of
the Department of Human Services, for the biennium beginning July
1, 2001, out of the General Fund, the amount of $___ for the
purpose of carrying out the provisions of section 1 of this 2001
Act. + }
