                      SENATE AMENDMENTS TO

  On page 1 of the printed bill, line 2, after 'franchises '
insert a period and delete the rest of the line.
  Delete lines 4 through 30 and delete page 2 and insert:
  '  { +  SECTION 1. + }  { + (1) As used in this section, 'motor
fuel' has the meaning given that term in ORS 650.200.
  ' (2) The Department of Justice shall study competition in the
wholesale and retail markets for motor fuel in this state. The
study shall include, but is not limited to, the effects and
potential effects on competition of divorcement, redlining, zone
pricing, open supply and price differentials.
  ' (3) The department shall submit a report on the study
conducted under subsection (2) of this section to the
Seventy-second Legislative Assembly no later than January 15,
2003. + }
  '  { +  SECTION 2. + }  { + Section 1 of this 2001 Act is
repealed January 2, 2004. + } ' .
