                      SENATE AMENDMENTS TO
                   SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION 12

  Delete lines 3 through 17 of the printed joint resolution and
insert:
  '  { +  PARAGRAPH 1. + } The Constitution of the State of
Oregon is amended by creating a new section 10b to be added to
and made a part of Article IV, and by amending section 10,
Article IV, such sections to read:
  '  { +  Sec. 10. + } The  { + regular + } sessions of the
Legislative Assembly shall be held   { - biennially - }  { +
annually + } at the Capitol of the State commencing on the second
Monday of  { + January + }   { - September, in the year eighteen
hundred and fifty eight, and on the same day of every second year
thereafter - } , unless a different day   { - shall have been - }
 { +  is + } appointed by law.  { -  - - }  { +  A regular
session may not exceed 120 calendar days, and the total number of
calendar days of two consecutive regular sessions, beginning with
each regular session in an odd-numbered year, may not exceed 150
calendar days. + }
  '  { +  SECTION 10b. + }  { + (1) The amendment to section 10
of this Article by Senate Joint Resolution 12 (2001) first
applies to the regular session held in 2003.
  ' (2) This section is repealed January 1, 2005. + } ' .
