                       HOUSE AMENDMENTS TO
             A-ENGROSSED SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION 12

  Delete lines 3 through 14 of the printed A-engrossed joint
resolution and insert:
  '  { +  PARAGRAPH 1. + } Section 10, Article IV of the
Constitution of the State of Oregon, is amended to read:
  '  { +  Sec. 10. + }  { + (1) + } The  { + regular + } sessions
of the Legislative Assembly shall be held   { - biennially - }
 { + annually + } at the Capitol of the State commencing on the
second Monday of   { - September, in the year eighteen hundred
and fifty eight, and on the same day of every second year
thereafter, unless a different day shall have been appointed by
law.- - }  { +  February.
  ' (2) Sessions in odd-numbered years may not exceed 120
calendar days.
  ' (3) Sessions in even-numbered years may not exceed 50
calendar days.
  ' (4) A regular session may be extended for one or more periods
of five calendar days by the affirmative vote of two-thirds of
the members of each house. If more than one period is affirmed, a
subsequent period may not exceed five calendar days, must receive
a separate two-thirds affirmative vote and must run consecutively
with the prior period except for any intervening Sunday.
  ' (5) A member may receive per diem payments only for a regular
session and one extension of five calendar days. + } ' .
