Relating to judgments in criminal actions; amending section 5, chapter 1064, Oregon Laws 1999; and declaring an emergency.

Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:

SECTION 1. Section 5, chapter 1064, Oregon Laws 1999, is amended to read:

Sec. 5. (1) [Sections 2, 3 and 4 of this 1999 Act] ORS 1.190, 1.192 and 137.183 and the amendments to ORS 137.295 by section 1, chapter 1064, Oregon Laws 1999, [of this 1999 Act] become operative on July 1, [2003] 2007.

(2) [Section 2 of this 1999 Act] ORS 137.183 and the amendments to ORS 137.295 by section 1, chapter 1064, Oregon Laws 1999, [of this 1999 Act] apply only to judgments entered on or after July 1, [2003] 2007.

SECTION 2. This 2003 Act being necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety, an emergency is declared to exist, and this 2003 Act takes effect on its passage.
