States policy regarding persistent bioaccumulative toxins.
Directs Department of Human Services to develop and implement
program for monitoring levels of such toxins in residents of
state.
A BILL FOR AN ACT
Relating to persistent bioaccumulative toxins.
Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:
SECTION 1. { + (1) It is the policy of the State of Oregon
that persistent bioaccumulative toxins, such as dioxin and
furans, should not be released into the air, water or soil of the
state, where such release would result in the potential for
bioaccumulation in humans and adverse human health effects.
(2) The Department of Human Services shall develop and
implement a program for monitoring the level of persistent
bioaccumulative toxins in residents of the state. The department
may seek funding from the federal government and private sources
to establish and implement the monitoring program. + }
