A BILL FOR AN ACT
Relating to community corrections.
Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:
SECTION 1. { + The Legislative Assembly finds and declares
that:
(1) The community corrections partnership between the state and
counties, whereby counties have assumed responsibility for felony
offenders sentenced to terms of incarceration of 12 months or
less, is dependent upon the state providing adequate funding to
the counties; and
(2) If the appropriation made to the Department of Corrections
for community corrections for the biennium beginning July 1,
2003, is not greater than the appropriation made to the
department for community corrections by the Seventy-first

corrections partnership as it exists on the effective date of
this 2003 Act must be repealed or restructured to reflect the
lack of adequate funding. + }
