                             SUMMARY

brief statement of the essential features of the measure.
 
  Requires Department of Human Services to pay pharmacy provider
for   { - up to 90-day - }   { + same number of days' + } supply
of prescription drugs  { + for chronic condition + } or
 { + of + } durable medical equipment or supplies { +  as
department pays to other providers + }.  Prohibits department
from imposing voluntary copayments on prescription drugs for
certain medical assistance recipients.
 
                        A BILL FOR AN ACT
Relating to pharmacy providers for medical assistance program.
Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:
  SECTION 1.  { + (1) The Department of Human Services shall pay
a pharmacy provider who is an enrolled provider in the medical
assistance program for the same number of days' supply of a
prescription drug used to treat a chronic condition or of durable
medical equipment or supplies as the department pays to any other
enrolled or contract provider.
  (2) The department may not impose voluntary copayments for
prescription drugs dispensed by pharmacy providers for
individuals receiving:
  (a) The benefit package described in ORS 414.835; or
  (b) Medical assistance as defined in ORS 414.025 through a
fee-for-service payment system. + }
