  Instructs Health Licensing Office to study abolishment of
Oregon State Board of Nursing and transfer of functions to
office.  Requires report to Governor and Legislative Assembly by
January 31, 2005.
 
                        A BILL FOR AN ACT
Relating to abolishment of Oregon State Board of Nursing.
Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:
  SECTION 1.  { + (1) The Health Licensing Office shall conduct a
study to determine how to abolish the Oregon State Board of
Nursing and transfer its functions to the office in the manner
that best serves the interests of the public. The study must
include, but is not limited to, recommendations for adequate
professional input to the office for regulation of the profession
of nursing after the functions of the board have been transferred
to the office.
  (2) The Director of the Health Licensing Office shall report
the results of the study to the Governor and the Legislative
Assembly no later then January 31, 2005. The report to the
Legislative Assembly shall be made in the manner required by ORS
192.245. + }
