                      SENATE AMENDMENTS TO
                         SENATE BILL 421

  In line 2 of the printed bill, after 'guidelines' insert ' ;
creating new provisions; and amending ORS 163.145'.
  In line 6, delete the period and insert 'if:
  ' (1) The manslaughter or criminally negligent homicide
resulted from the operation of a motor vehicle; and
  ' (2) The driver of the motor vehicle was driving while under
the influence of intoxicants.
  '  { +  SECTION 2. + } ORS 163.145 is amended to read:
  ' 163.145. (1) A person commits the crime of criminally
negligent homicide when, with criminal negligence, the person
causes the death of another person.
  ' (2) Criminally negligent homicide is a   { - Class C - }
 { +  Class B + } felony.'.
