SUMMARY
The following summary is not prepared by the sponsors of the
measure and is not a part of the body thereof subject to
consideration by the Legislative Assembly. It is an editor's
brief statement of the essential features of the measure as
introduced.
Appropriates moneys to Department of Human Services for
provision of fruits and vegetables from farmers' markets to
individuals eligible for Women, Infants and Children Program.
Declares emergency, effective July 1, 2003.
A BILL FOR AN ACT
Relating to Women, Infants and Children Program; appropriating
money; and declaring an emergency.
Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:
SECTION 1. { + In addition to and not in lieu of any other
appropriation, there is appropriated to the Department of Human
Services, for the biennium beginning July 1, 2003, out of the
General Fund, the amount of $49,000 for the purpose of providing
fresh Oregon-grown fruits and vegetables from farmers' markets to
eligible individuals through the Women, Infants and Children
Program established under ORS 409.600. + }
SECTION 2. { + This 2003 Act being necessary for the immediate
preservation of the public peace, health and safety, an emergency
is declared to exist, and this 2003 Act takes effect July 1,
2003. + }
