Prohibits county clerk from printing information on ballot
return identification envelopes that allows any person to
determine political party affiliation of person to whom ballot
was delivered.
A BILL FOR AN ACT
Relating to elections.
Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:
SECTION 1. { + Section 2 of this 2003 Act is added to and made
a part of ORS chapter 254. + }
SECTION 2. { + A county clerk may not print any information on
a return identification envelope provided in an election
conducted by mail that allows any person to determine:
(1) The political party affiliation of the elector to whom the
ballot and return identification envelope is mailed or otherwise
delivered; or
(2) That the elector to whom the ballot and return
identification envelope is mailed or otherwise delivered is not
affiliated with any political party. + }
SECTION 3. { + Section 4 of this 2003 Act is added to and made
a part of ORS chapter 253. + }
SECTION 4. { + A county clerk may not print any information on
a return identification envelope delivered under this chapter
that allows any person to determine:
(1) The political party affiliation of the elector to whom the
ballot and return identification envelope is mailed or otherwise
delivered; or
(2) That the elector to whom the ballot and return
identification envelope is mailed or otherwise delivered is not
affiliated with any political party. + }
