                             AN ACT
 
 
Relating to U-turns.
 
Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:
 
  SECTION 1.  { + (1) The Department of Transportation shall
conduct a study regarding the feasibility of expanding the number
of places where U-turns are permitted.
  (2) The study shall focus on:
  (a) Traffic safety issues, including, but not limited to,
rights of way at controlled intersections, U-turns at congested
intersections and problems caused by large vehicles turning on
narrow highways; and
  (b) Costs associated with placing signs at places where U-turns
are permitted.
  (3) The department shall report the results of its study to the
Seventy-third Legislative Assembly in the manner provided by ORS
192.245 no later than January 31, 2005. + }
