Chapter 782 Oregon Laws 2005

 

AN ACT

 

HB 5163

 

Relating to state financial administration; appropriating money; and declaring an emergency.

 

Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:

 

          SECTION 1. In addition to and not in lieu of any other appropriation, there is appropriated to the Director of Veterans’ Affairs, for the biennium beginning July 1, 2005, out of the General Fund, the amount of $631,000, which may be expended for education benefits for veterans provided under ORS 408.010 to 408.090.

 

          SECTION 2. In addition to and not in lieu of any other appropriation, there is appropriated to the Director of Veterans’ Affairs, for the biennium beginning July 1, 2005, out of the General Fund, the amount of $500,000 which may be expended for the Oregon Veterans’ Emergency Financial Assistance Program created by section 6, chapter 831, Oregon Laws 2005 (Enrolled House Bill 3504).

 

          SECTION 3. In addition to and not in lieu of any other appropriation, there is appropriated to the Oregon Student Assistance Commission, for the biennium beginning July 1, 2005, out of the General Fund, the amount of $165,000, which may be expended for the Oregon Troops to Teachers program established by section 9, chapter 831, Oregon Laws 2005 (Enrolled House Bill 3504).

 

          SECTION 4. In addition to and not in lieu of any other appropriation, there is appropriated to the Employment Department, for the biennium beginning July 1, 2005, out of the General Fund, the amount of $54,000, which may be expended for transportation needs related to the employment, training and education of veterans.

 

          SECTION 5. In addition to and not in lieu of any other appropriation, there is appropriated to the Oregon Military Department, for the biennium beginning July 1, 2005, out of the General Fund, the amount of $350,000, which may be expended to reimburse persons for the costs of resident annual hunting licenses and resident annual angling licenses as provided in section 11, chapter 831, Oregon Laws 2005 (Enrolled House Bill 3504).

 

          SECTION 6. This 2005 Act being necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety, an emergency is declared to exist, and this 2005 Act takes effect July 1, 2005.
