Chapter 793 Oregon Laws 2005

 

AN ACT

 

SB 5629

 

Relating to state financial administration; appropriating money; limiting expenditures; and declaring an emergency.

 

Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:

 

          SECTION 1. In addition to and not in lieu of any other appropriation, there is appropriated to the Director of Veterans’ Affairs, for the biennium beginning July 1, 2005, out of the General Fund, the amount of $2,600,000, which may be expended for purposes described in section 2, chapter 836, Oregon Laws 2005 (Enrolled Senate Bill 1100).

 

          SECTION 2. In addition to and not in lieu of any other appropriation, there is appropriated to the Oregon Military Department, for the biennium beginning July 1, 2005, out of the General Fund, the amount of $500,000, which may be expended for tuition waivers granted pursuant to ORS 399.275 and 399.280, as amended by sections 1 and 2, chapter 200, Oregon Laws 2005 (Enrolled Senate Bill 486).

 

          SECTION 3. In addition to and not in lieu of any other appropriation, there is appropriated to the Oregon Military Emergency Financial Assistance Fund created in section 10, chapter 836, Oregon Laws 2005 (Enrolled Senate Bill 1100), for the biennium beginning July 1, 2005, out of the General Fund, the amount of $500,000, which may be expended by the Oregon Military Department for the purposes described in section 9, chapter 836, Oregon Laws 2005 (Enrolled Senate Bill 1100).

 

          SECTION 4. Notwithstanding any other law limiting expenditures, the amount of $500,000 is established for the biennium beginning July 1, 2005, as the maximum limit for payment of expenses by the Oregon Military Department from fees, moneys or other revenues, including Miscellaneous Receipts, but excluding lottery funds and federal funds, collected or received for the Oregon Military Emergency Financial Assistance Fund established by section 10, chapter 836, Oregon Laws 2005 (Enrolled Senate Bill 1100).

 

          SECTION 5. This 2005 Act being necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety, an emergency is declared to exist, and this 2005 Act takes effect July 1, 2005.
