CHAPTER ................
AN ACT
Relating to state financial administration; appropriating money;
and declaring an emergency.
Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:
SECTION 1. { + In addition to and not in lieu of any other
appropriation, there is appropriated to the Department of
Corrections, for the biennium beginning July 1, 2005, out of the
General Fund, the amount of $1,471,866, for payment of expenses
related to those provisions of chapter ___, Oregon Laws 2005
(Enrolled Senate Bill 907), that create crimes or change
sentences for existing crimes. + }
SECTION 2. { + In addition to and not in lieu of any other
appropriation, there is appropriated to the Department of
Corrections, for the biennium beginning July 1, 2005, out of the
General Fund, the amount of $900,000, which may be expended for
transitional housing and substance abuse treatment for offenders
participating in an alternative incarceration program who are
granted transitional leave under ORS 421.510. + }
SECTION 3. { + In addition to and not in lieu of any other
appropriation, there is appropriated to the Department of
Justice, for the biennium beginning July 1, 2005, out of the
General Fund, the amount of $550,087, which may be expended for
assisting district attorneys and law enforcement agencies in the
investigation and prosecution of cases related to
methamphetamine. + }
SECTION 4. { + In addition to and not in lieu of any other
appropriation, there is appropriated to the Public Defense
Services Commission, for the biennium beginning July 1, 2005, out
of the General Fund, the amount of $450,000, for payment of
expenses related to increased prosecution of, and increased
prosecution resources for, cases related to methamphetamine. + }
SECTION 5. { + This 2005 Act being necessary for the immediate
preservation of the public peace, health and safety, an emergency
is declared to exist, and this 2005 Act takes effect July 1,
2005. + }
