  FARR (at the request of Oregon Telecommunications Coordinating
  Council)
 
 
  Whereas local partnerships and coalitions are forming in all
areas of the state to address health care workforce shortages in
local areas; and
  Whereas Oregon's Statewide Simulation Alliance is fostering a
statewide network of industry and education partner coalitions
formed to implement the use of simulation technologies in health
care workforce education; and
  Whereas the Oregon Consortium for Nursing Education is building
a statewide nursing curriculum based on required nursing
competencies that will be delivered around the state in Oregon
Consortium for Nursing Education programs; and
  Whereas the Community College Healthcare Action Plan initiative
is working with and for the 17 community colleges in this state
to address local and statewide health care workforce education in
community colleges; and
  Whereas the Oregon Telecommunications Coordinating Council was
charged with providing a report and recommendations on the
statewide needs for telecommunications infrastructure and
establishing and implementing curriculum applications using
distance learning and e-learning modalities by the passage of
House Bill 2577 by the Seventy-second Legislative Assembly; now,
therefore,
 
Be It Resolved by the Legislative Assembly of the State of
  Oregon:
 
  That we, the members of the Seventy-third Legislative Assembly,
acknowledge and endorse the collaborative work of industry,
education and agency partners to develop and implement health
care education initiatives to expand access to and capacity of
health care education programs.
