Relating to definition of police officer; amending ORS 801.395; and
declaring an emergency.
Be It Enacted by the People of
the State of
SECTION 1. ORS 801.395 is amended to read:
801.395. “Police officer”
includes a member of the Oregon State Police, a sheriff, a deputy sheriff,
[or] a city police officer or a
law enforcement officer employed by a service district established under ORS
451.410 to 451.610 for the purpose of law enforcement services.
SECTION 2. This 2007 Act being necessary for the
immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety, an emergency is
declared to exist, and this 2007 Act takes effect on its passage.
