AN ACT
SB 5505
Relating to financial administration of the Department of Corrections;
appropriating money; limiting expenditures; and declaring an emergency.
Be It Enacted by the People of
the State of
SECTION 1. There are appropriated to the Department of
Corrections, for the biennium beginning July 1, 2007, out of the General Fund,
the following amounts for the following purposes:
(1) Operations..................................... $ 751,283,445
(2) Administration, public services,
general
services and
human
resources........................... $ 110,560,885
(3) Transitional services..................... $ 46,745,641
(4) Community corrections................ $ 225,289,542
(5) Debt service................................... $ 130,202,602
(6) Capital improvements.................. $ 2,557,806
SECTION 2. Notwithstanding any other law limiting
expenditures, the following amounts are established for the biennium beginning
July 1, 2007, as the maximum limits for payment of expenses from fees, moneys
or other revenues, including Miscellaneous Receipts, but excluding lottery
funds and federal funds, collected or received by the Department of
Corrections, for the following purposes:
(1) Operations..................................... $ 11,035,409
(2) Administration and general
services........................................... $ 14,842,432
(3) Transitional services..................... $ 8,494,845
(4) Community corrections................ $ 1,867,434
SECTION 3. Notwithstanding any other law limiting
expenditures, the amount of $9,273,659 is established for the biennium
beginning July 1, 2007, as the maximum limit for payment of expenses from
federal funds collected or received by the Department of Corrections for
operations.
SECTION 4. This 2007 Act being necessary for the
immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety, an emergency is
declared to exist, and this 2007 Act takes effect July 1, 2007.
