AN ACT
HB 5044
Relating to financial administration of the Oregon Student Assistance
Commission; appropriating money; limiting expenditures; and declaring an
emergency.
Be It Enacted by the People of
the State of
SECTION 1. There are appropriated to the
(1) Payments to individuals
and
institutions.............................. $ 95,688,467
(2) Operations..................................... $ 3,048,203
SECTION 2. Notwithstanding any other law limiting
expenditures, the amount of $5,662,031 is established for the biennium
beginning July 1, 2007, as the maximum limit for payment of expenses from fees,
moneys or other revenues, including Miscellaneous Receipts, but excluding
federal funds, lottery moneys allocated from the Education Stability Fund for
Oregon Opportunity Grants and those funds described in section 5 of this 2007
Act, collected or received by the Oregon Student Assistance Commission.
SECTION 3. Notwithstanding any other law limiting
expenditures, the amount of $2,104,655 is established for the biennium
beginning July 1, 2007, as the maximum limit for payment of expenses from
federal funds collected or received by the
SECTION 4. Notwithstanding any other law limiting
expenditures, the amount of $9,879,176 is established for the biennium
beginning July 1, 2007, as the maximum limit for payment of expenses from
lottery moneys allocated from the Education Stability Fund to the
SECTION 5. For the biennium beginning July 1, 2007,
expenditures by the
(1) Making disbursements
of grants from private and special scholarship accounts as established by the
Legislative Assembly; and
(2) Making disbursements
of educational benefits to individuals through the JOBS Plus
Program.
SECTION 6. This 2007 Act being necessary for the
immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety, an emergency is
declared to exist, and this 2007 Act takes effect July 1, 2007.
