Oregon Laws 2007

 

          Whereas National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month has been observed each September for 17 years; and

          Whereas this observance promotes the benefits of alcohol and drug addiction treatment and recovery; and

          Whereas every day Oregonians enter treatment for alcohol and drug addiction and begin the road to recovery, while their families seek hope and recovery in support programs and counseling; and

          Whereas alcohol and drug addiction disorders are a treatable yet serious health care problem; and

          Whereas the treatment of alcohol and drug addiction disorders results in stronger and healthier Oregon communities; and

          Whereas recognition of National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month offers Oregonians who work in alcohol and drug addiction treatment and prevention an opportunity to educate the public, community organizations, public officials and civic leaders about the impact of alcohol and drugs on our communities and the hope of recovery; now, therefore,

 

Be It Resolved by the Legislative Assembly of the State of Oregon:

 

          That the Seventy-fourth Legislative Assembly recognizes September [2007] as Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month.
